More than 1900 South Auckland homes without power after car crashed into pole

One person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after their car crashed in a power pole, downing lines and cutting power to almost 2000 homes. Emergency services were called to the crash at the intersection of Mill Rd and Polo Prince Drive, Totara Park, about 8.20pm. The power was out between Redoubt Rd and Ara Kotinga Rd, about 15 kilometres away.  VECTOR Power was expected to be restored to the 1900 affected homes by Tuesday morning.
